This  is the 84th engr quarry located at PHU-LOC. The quarry men where from ALPHA co attached to Delta. The man you see is SFC ROY BUXTON he was in charge of the quarry. The quarry was under command of (1st LT Craig) during that time frame and Sgt Buxton was the first sgt. The unit was named Task Force Phu Loc and was under the 27th Eng Bn at Camp Eagle for most of 1971 but was transferred, as all of us personnel were, to the 84th in Nov 71 when we moved to Phu Bai. (1st LT Craig) was in charge when we turned over the quarry to the ARVN in late 1971. The 105's are from the 101st. They were fireing up the hill to keep the enemy from  bothering operations. EM PLT provided dozer support and haul road maint. from the pit to the crusher.

Some history of ... I CORPS I doubt that few got  to see. At least as I  did. This is the citadel in HUE.  There was heavy fighting here during TET of 68 and who knows how many other wars. I was outside taking these pictures when a Monk came and ask me if wanted to see the inside. I went with him on a guided tour. A truly remarkable  experience. I hope to share these  all members of the 84th.
